Florula puts every plant you grow on a map of your own property, drawn carefully enough that you can look at it, walk outside, and go straight to the plant.

The name comes from botany, where a florula is the list of plants growing in one small area. Your yard, for instance.

It starts with a map

Most plant apps give you a list, and a list can’t tell you which of your four hydrangeas you mean. So Florula starts by drawing your property for you: the buildings, the roads and driveway, the contours of the land, and the property lines where your state publishes them.

That’s only a starting point. You pick which building is your house, then trace in what only you know about, like the beds, the paths, the fence line, and the tree you mow around. Draw with your finger, and the line smooths out when you let go.

Then add your plants

Each plant is a pin on the map. Its color shows how it’s doing, and its symbol shows what kind of plant it is. Tap one to see its type, its stage, its health, and every note you’ve written about it.

Those notes are called observations. Each one is dated and can have photos, so after a few seasons every plant has its own history. The bloom calendar looks across all of them to show you what’s about to bloom.
